Start with the template picker
When you click New funnel, ClickSight opens a template picker first. This helps beginners start from common journey patterns instead of building every step manually.

Understand what each funnel step field means
Inside the funnel editor, every step row has three main parts. Understanding them makes the setup much easier.
Funnel step builder placeholder
Step by step
- The first field is the step label. This is the human-readable name you will see in the funnel, such as `Landing page visit` or `WhatsApp button click`.
- The second field is the step type. In your screenshots, common types are `page`, `event`, and `url_contains` depending on the template and step.
- The third field is the matching value. This tells ClickSight what to count, such as `/`, `/checkout`, `whatsapp_click`, or `signup_click`.
- You can drag steps to reorder them, add new steps, or remove steps you do not need before saving.
Examples
- Step label: `Landing page visit` | Type: `page` | Value: `/`
- Step label: `WhatsApp button click` | Type: `event` | Value: `whatsapp_click`
- Step label: `Purchase confirmation` | Type: `url_contains` | Value: `/thank-you`

Use the ready-made templates as practical starting points
The templates in your screenshots are already built around common website journeys. Beginners should start with the one closest to their real goal and then edit it if needed.
Step by step
- TOFU / MOFU / BOFU Funnel starts with a landing page visit, then an engagement action, then a conversion action. Use it for broad awareness-to-conversion journeys.
- Lead Generation Funnel starts with a landing page visit, then form interaction, then form submit. Use it when leads come through a form.
- WhatsApp Contact Funnel starts with a landing page visit, then WhatsApp button click. Use it when the business wants visitors to contact by WhatsApp.
- E-commerce Purchase Funnel starts with a product page view, then add to cart, then checkout page, then purchase confirmation. Use it for store purchases.
- Blog Engagement Funnel starts with blog page view, then scroll depth over 50%, then CTA click. Use it for content-led conversion analysis.
- Signup Funnel starts with landing page visit, then signup button click, then signup success page. Use it for account or lead signup flows.
Examples
- WhatsApp Contact Funnel: `/` -> `whatsapp_click`
- Lead Generation Funnel: `/` -> `form_interaction` -> `form_submit`
- E-commerce Purchase Funnel: `/product` -> `add_to_cart` -> `/checkout` -> `/thank-you`

Save the funnel and read the result
Once the steps look correct, save the funnel and let real traffic move through it.
Step by step
- Use a funnel name that clearly explains the journey, such as `WhatsApp Contact Funnel` or `Signup Funnel`.
- Wait for real users or your own test traffic to pass through the steps.
- Look at how many users reached each step and where the drop-off is largest.
- Use replay, events, and heatmaps to investigate the weak step if completion is lower than expected.
